Aylesbury High School (Charity Number 1058760) will be 70 years old in 2029 and we are incredibly proud of our history and reputation as an outstanding School, specifically in the role we have played in developing uniquely talented young adults, who are independent, strong and confident.
We provide an academic education for each and every student which is ambitious in breadth and quality of opportunity, as well as facilitating dynamic personal development for each of our students.
It is with the help of previous parents, carers and alumnae that we have been able to achieve this. Similar to most state schools we have funding for our core purpose but historically our wider community has played a key role in helping us to enhance and improve school facilities, to enrich the curriculum and to support those families who may need a little extra help.
It is with this help that we have been able to ensure each student at AHS has every opportunity to reach their full potential. Thank you.
Previous donations and campaigns have allowed us to build our Sports Hall, our Sixth Form Study Centre, stock our re-designed Library, refurbish our Science Laboratories, refurbish the Tower Block and, most recently, build specialised language areas to improve our delivery of our Modern Foreign Language curriculum. This is in addition to a wide range of smaller-scale projects, which all students have benefitted from. The Fund also support those students whose families find it hard to find the money to pay for trips and activities but who fall short of the government-provided support through Pupil Premium.
As an Academy our annual operating costs are funded through central government and this covers our core purpose, but to support all students by the effective delivery of our Vision and Mission, we have to look for additional outside sources to help, either through grants or our community for regular or one-off gifts.
